Boris is our rescue Springer Spaniel. He came to us from the Dogs Trust last August, after being unsuccessfully rehomed three times since he was found as a stray in January. He had a few issues to say the least, and took a while to settle in and start to trust in us.

After training with Marie Miller www.pawsnlearn.co.uk since December, who uses only positive and reward based methods of training, as well as Tellington Touch (see Marie's website, she is one of the highest qualified TTouch practitioners in the country), Boris has improved hugely and continues to do so. When we first got him, taking him for a walk was a nightmare because he was so tense and nervous; his strategy was to get in first and attack other dogs before they attacked him.

First time we met Boris at the Dogs Trust

He's like a different dog now, much more calm and relaxed, happy and trusting, and we hardly ever have a problem these days. This has taken a lot of work, lots of training and rewards, and lots of patience. We NEVER shout at him or punish him in any way, as I believe that all that does is to make matters much worse and does nothing to make the dog trust you or believe that you are going to look after them.
